Discover Petrykivka: The Soul of Ukrainian Folk Art

If you are seeing these vibrant floral patterns for the first time, you are about to discover one of the most beautiful traditions in the world. Petrykivka Painting (pronounced pe-try-keev-ka) is not just art; it’s a celebration of life, nature, and the resilient spirit of Ukraine

A bit of a history

Where did it come from

This style originated in the small, sunny village of Petrykivka in central Ukraine. Long ago, villagers believed that beautiful paintings could protect them from bad luck. They used to decorate the walls of their whitewashed houses, their furniture, and even household tools with colorful flowers and birds.

Today, this art is so unique that it has been recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

What makes it special

When you look at a Petrykivka piece, you are seeing a “world without shadows.” Here is what to look for:

Why I love it so much?

For me, Petrykivka is about more than just tradition. It’s about taking these ancient “alphabet” strokes and using them to tell a modern story. Whether it’s a classic canvas or a contemporary design, each piece carries a message of joy, prosperity, and harmony.

I invite you to explore my gallery and find the piece that speaks to you. Each brushstroke is a piece of my heart and a tribute to a centuries-old Ukrainian legacy.

Enjoy the colors!
