Paints, Removal, and Health Questions

I only use professional-grade cosmetic materials for the face and body that are approved by the EU and FDA. These include well-known brands of face paints such as Diamond FX, Tag, Superstar, Face Paints Australia, Global, Cameleon, Fusion, Kryolan, and Mehron.

These products are designed for use on the face and body, are hypoallergenic, and possess antibacterial properties. A detailed list of specific ingredients used in these brands can be found in our paint certification information.

Most paints used on children’s skin are water-based, making them easy to wipe off with a damp cloth and wash out of clothing. However, some colours, particularly certain matte blues, greens, reds, and oranges, may leave a tint on light, dry skin that can persist for a couple of days after the main paint has been removed.

For guidance on how to remove the paint and wash clothing, please see here.

Some companies that rent inflatable castles do not allow children with painted faces on their attractions. Therefore, please check with them before booking.

All the paints I use comply with EU and FDA regulations and are safe for children. However, some children may have hypersensitivity, so I will defer to the parents’ judgement. If there are any concerns, I can conduct a free patch test on the child’s arm without any waiting.

Yes, I do. It’s free and done without any waiting. Just approach me and let me know you would like to do this. I will draw a couple of thin lines on the skin, and we can observe if there is any reaction.

It is advisable to remove face paint in the evening before going to bed.

Face paint can be easily removed with warm water and a gentle soap suitable for the face or baby shampoo. Some colours may temporarily stain dry skin; using baby lotion or coconut oil can help resolve this issue. For clothing that has come into contact with paint, soak it in cold water before washing it normally. You can find more detailed instructions via the link.

Glitter tattoos are a form of long-lasting temporary tattoos for both children and adults, created using stencil designs, body glue, and glitter. The cosmetic body glue used for glitter tattoos should last between 3 to 5 days, depending on how well they are cared for and where they are applied. The glue is waterproof, so it will withstand baths, showers, and swimming! It is certified for skin application and is safe to use.

To remove the glue from glitter tattoos, it is best to use alcohol, as it helps break down the glue more quickly. If you don’t have alcohol available, you can moisten the area with baby oil or lotion, wait a few minutes, and then use a soft sponge with a bit of soap to gently remove it.

Our professional-grade paints are suitable for sensitive skin and safe for children over the age of 3. However, as with all cosmetic products, there is a small risk of an allergic reaction. If you are concerned that you or your child may be developing an allergy to the face paint, please remove it as soon as possible using warm water and a flannel. If the reaction persists or is severe, seek medical assistance promptly.

If you have a medical condition, you may be wondering whether you can still receive our services. To ensure the safety of all our clients, we regret to inform you that we cannot proceed with any treatments on areas of the face that pose a risk of cross-contamination. This includes, but is not limited to, skin rashes, infectious skin conditions, open wounds, conjunctivitis, herpes, or any active illnesses such as a cold.

Additionally, we only use materials on clean, healthy skin and cannot apply products to any wounded areas. For more detailed information, please refer to our health and safety policy.

Thank you for your understanding!

Please invite me to a baby shower! I dream of painting my first pregnant belly!

You won’t find me at Halloween parties painting anything spooky. That goes against my moral principles.

This usually depends on the complexity of the requested design. However, on average, it takes about 5–10 minutes for most children’s faces. This is why booking should be for a minimum of 2 hours.

I can paint approximately 10–12 faces an hour, ideally around 22 for a two-hour party. This equates to about 4–8 minutes per child, ensuring that each child feels they are receiving special attention. However, this may vary depending on the complexity of the chosen designs.

There is no upper age limit. However, we do not recommend applying paint to the faces of children under 3 years old. Young children often cannot sit still for long or may move unexpectedly, which could lead to paint getting into their eyes or mouth (or they may scrape off the paint and put it in their mouth). Children under 3 can have their hands or forearms painted. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. I will paint children if they are happy and ready to be painted.

I have a display board with photographs of all the designs I offer. I always provide designs for boys, girls, and adults. I can even create some designs tailored to your theme if requested ahead of your event. I make special themed designs for events such as Animals and Birds, Princesses and Crowns, Fairies and Mermaids, Unicorns and Butterflies, Rainbows, Pirates, Dragons and Snakes, Superheroes, Flowers and Fruits, Christmas, Ice Cream and Sweets, Tribal patterns, Abstracts, and much more. I can create any design you desire, but please no offensive symbols. I also have another menu of quick designs for lively events that offer 3-5 minute designs such as Rainbows, Festival Eyes, and Tribal patterns.

Please note: I do not paint anything horror-related or spooky.

Of course! I would be delighted to do so as long as it does not conflict with my moral principles. Please get in touch to discuss your special requests.

I can do at my usual fee,

Unless specifically requested otherwise, we would like the opportunity to promote our services while attending your event. This means we may have business cards/flyers/posters available.

All face paintings you see on this website were created by me at parties and events. For your event, you can expect the same level of face painting and designs as those displayed on this site. I typically paint around 10 faces an hour, but this number directly depends on the complexity of the designs chosen. It could be as few as 4 faces if intricate designs with serious artistic detail are selected, or up to 15 faces with simpler designs like rainbows and Festival Eyes.

When you place an order, you will receive a personalised quote for your event via email, containing all the relevant information. A deposit of £25 is required to secure the date. The remaining balance is payable on the day of the event in cash or via bank transfer before/after the event by arrangement. Once the deposit is paid, the date is considered booked.

Yes, a deposit is required to guarantee the date and time of your event. Your booking will be confirmed once the deposit has been received. Typically, this is £25, and this amount will be deducted from the total during final settlement. There are always very popular dates throughout the year, so it’s advisable to book and pay the deposit as soon as you have a confirmed date.

Yes, a full refund of the deposit is possible if the cancellation occurs more than 30 days before the event.

If cancellation occurs less than 30 days before the event, the deposit will not be refunded.

The deposit will also be fully refunded in case of my illness preventing me from attending the event.

The earlier, the better! However, I understand that life can change our plans unexpectedly. Therefore, I recommend starting to book at least 2-3 months in advance for small parties and 4-6 months for corporate events.

These timelines depend not only on my schedule and other bookings but also on any preparation needed for your event, such as developing new themed designs or ordering custom stencils for corporate events.

Yes, we do accept last-minute bookings if the requested date and time are available.

If your new chosen date is available, I can easily transfer your booking. However, please note that I may be booked several months in advance, so the sooner changes are made, the better chance there is of securing that time slot.

This depends on various factors: date, day of the week, location, number of children, type of event, etc., so it’s difficult to provide pricing without a bit more information. However, you can get an idea of price ranges in the Pricing section.

The remaining balance can be paid in cash or via bank transfer on the day of the event.

Payment should be made via bank transfer to the account specified in the quote on any day before the booking date or within three days after the event, or in cash on the day of the event. I will confirm once the payment has been received in my bank account.

For face painting, I will require good lighting, especially if the event takes place during darker hours. I also need access to clean water and a place to dispose of dirty water/toilet facilities. I prefer not to work outdoors; however, if the party format requires outdoor work, I will need reasonable shelter from rain, wind, or sun.

I will only paint outdoors if there is a tent/shelter to protect me and my equipment from rain, sun, wind, etc.

I will be happy to provide a risk assessment.

Yes. I have PLI with coverage of £10 million.
